FAQs
1. New HVAC systems come with a warranty which covers
the coils, so why do we need to use ArmorCoil? Homes today are built to be energy efficient and,
in the process, they are sealed to prevent infiltration
of outside air. Construction materials, cooking and
cleaning processes, and many other products used daily
in homes cause harmful acids to accumulate in your
air conditioning system. These agents can cause failure
in your air conditioning system, resulting in refrigerant
gas leaking into the the air you breathe. Even systems
repaired under warranty frequently result in significant
out of pocket expenses on your part for labor costs
or other things which are not covered by the warranty,
but are needed in the process. Not to mention the overall
hassle factor of having to deal with a failed air conditioner.
The annual application of ArmorCoil protects the coil
from the corrosive activity and prolongs the life and
efficiency of your unit.
2. Are there any other benefits to having ArmorCoil
protectant applied to my unit?
ArmorCoil is specifically designed to prevent corrosive
activity on all of the metals used in air conditioning
coils. Also, by preventing water blow-off from the
cooling fins into the surrounding areas and air ducts,
ArmorCoil helps eliminate the growth of mold, bacteria,
and fungus in those areas. Independent lab tests prove
ArmorCoil is bio-resistant, so it will not contribute
to the growth of irritating and odor-causing microbes
exposed to the air stream. Annual air conditioner system
maintenance with the ArmorCoil Cleaner/Protectant system
helps keep your home air fresh, clean, and protected.
3. Is ArmorCoil difficult or expensive to apply to
my unit?
ArmorCoil is cost effective and is easily and quickly
applied by your certified AC dealer. Your HVAC dealer
can apply ArmorCoil after cleaning your coil for a
reasonable charge. ArmorCoil does not require any special
tools or equipment for application. Your dealer can
apply it to your coil and all adjacent areas. ArmorCoil
is not harmful to plastic, painted surfaces, electrical
wires, or any other components used in the manufacturing
of air conditioning coils.
4. How will I know the ArmorCoil has been installed
on my system ?
When your unit is put back into operation, you will
experience a pleasant fragrance for a short period
of time. This fragrance was put into the ArmorCoil
to let you know your air conditioner has been treated
with ArmorCoil. If you have previously experienced
odor such as musty smells or other odors associated
with Heat Pumps (dirty sock syndrome), ArmorCoil will
help eliminate these odors.
